Job Description:

We are seeking a Compounder to join our team at a contract manufacturing organization specializing in spray products for cosmetics, personal care, and over-the-counter drug brands.

We are seeking an individual with a minimum one year of compounding experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g., Cosmetic, Flavor/Fragrence, Pharma), with knowledge of GMP practices.

The Chemical Compounder will be responsible for accurately weighing, verifing, and blending chemical compounds for product formulations. They will also calibrate and monitor mixing machinery, maintain production records, and strictly adhere to SOPs for each batch.

Shift times:

  • 1st shift (7am-3:30pm)
  • 2nd Shift (3:30pm-12am)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate formulation of production lots.
  • Set up, load, operate, and monitor mixing machinery for product formulations.
  • Weigh and blend precise chemical quantities based on specified formulas, overseeing output from mixing equipment.
  • Calibrate, operate, and monitor formulation equipment (e.g., scales, meters).
  • Adjust product pH for in-process testing before production line release.
  • Execute batch formulation using volumetric and gravimetric processes, following batch record specifications.
  • Clean and sanitize tanks, equipment, and chemical containers as per SOPs and cGMP standards.
  • Record production volumes (batches) and comply with current standards.
  • Perform additional duties in the compounding department as needed to support production schedule adherence.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Fundamental math and reading proficiency.
  • Preferred background in manufacturing-related industries.
  • Skill in precise measurement of chemicals, both powder and liquid, and understanding and following written SOPs specific to the formulation department.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • 1+ year(s) of compounding experience.
