Job description

Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist
Location: Remote
Pay: $21/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (any time zone)
Duration: 3 months (temporary)

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will primarily work with physician claims, utilizing our internal EMR system to handle billing processes and create claims. Your responsibilities will include making minor edits to claims and submitting disputes through payer portals. This position focuses exclusively on major commercial payors, with no government payor experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work exclusively with 1500 claim forms for physician billing.
  • Use our internal EMR system for billing and claim creation; minimal edits may be needed.
  • Manage approximately 50 - 60 accounts per day, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Submit disputes through payer portals as necessary.

Qualifications:
Must-Haves:

  • 1+ years of recent experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), specifically working with commercial payers.
  • Proficiency in G Suite, especially Google Sheets/Excel.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in behavioral health billing.
  • Previous remote work experience.
