Job description

Title: Medical Coding Auditor
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday-Friday; can start between 5am-8am CST
Overview: Looking for several REMOTE coding auditors to assist in various inpatient & outpatient surgical specialties!
Responsibilities:
  • This team is responsible for auditing providers and providing provider education
  • Utilizing/navigating MD Audit Enterprise
  • Depending on the provider score, you may have to schedule a follow up audit or schedule the next annual review
  • Send an audit package (created by MD Audit system) to the provider and practice manager
  • Meet virtually with providers to provide coding education if audit scores are not met
  • Provide new provider education - go over medical decision making, time based billing, preventatives, particular specialty knowledge (created in Microsoft PowerPoint)
Metrics (once acclimated to the role):
  • Productivity sheets daily
  • 95% productivity (10 audit cases per day)
  • QA reviews every 6 months (95% for quality reviews)
  • Productivity: 3-5 per hour depending on the case
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of coding experience
  • Hospital outpatient surgery experience (inpatient & outpatient exp preferred)
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC or AHIMA
  • High School Diploma
Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of auditing/provider education experience
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC or AHIMA
  • High School Diploma or GED
