CNC Machinist

Medix is seeking 10 skilled CNC Machinists to join our growing team in Orchard Park, NY. This is a 64K square foot, class 8 clean room facility with approx. 73 Swiss CNCs, 3 Wire EDMs, and 5 Milling Machines. This position requires a detail-oriented team player committed to producing high-quality medical device components. $5K relocation bonus upon first paycheck.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $21/hr base pay with shift differentials:
• 3rd (Monday - Friday 11PM - 7AM): $24.15/hr
• Weekend (Friday - Sunday; 5AM - 5PM): $26.46/hr
• Weekend (Friday - Sunday; 5PM - 5AM): $28.35/hr
• Perfect attendance bonus: $100/month ($1,200/year).
• Starting with 3 weeks vacation, 10 paid holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and Swiss machines.
• Run multiple CNC machines (3+) simultaneously, ensuring optimal production efficiency.
• Change tooling and perform offsets as needed.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and calibrate machines to maintain product quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints to produce parts to exact specifications.
• Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, Smartscopes, and CMMs for quality assurance.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing principles.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC machines (mills, lathes, Swiss).
• Proficient in changing tooling and performing offsets; understands feeds, speeds, and basic G-Code.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, gauges; experience with CMMs, Smartscopes, or vision systems is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work off shifts as needed to support production demands.
