Job description

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (Primary Care)

Location: Lisle, IL

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Tuesday hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM)

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care, performing various clinical and administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for their medical appointments, including taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and confirming the reason for the visit.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed.
  • Perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and conducting basic laboratory tests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including electronic health records (EHR), ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinate patient referrals, schedule appointments, and follow up on test results as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide patient education on various health topics, including medication instructions, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
  • Prior experience working in a primary care setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, EHR systems, and basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids may occur; adherence to infection control protocols is essential.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of medical supplies and equipment may be required.
