The Operations Coordinator, HB Coding is a subject matter expert and role model of the Coding Department and coordinates a team effort to compile and maintain data for various functional areas within the Coding Department. This position monitors division statistics and evaluation measures, maintains the department's dashboard, assists in ensuring competencies and compliance requirements are met for all State and Federal standards and oversees the day to day staffing and work assignments within a work unit. This position also provides lead assistance to Coding Management with related projects and Coding function coverage.
This is a fully remote opportunity with equipment provided. Candidates must live in one of the following states: Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and implement workflow processes for continuous improvement.
- Train, mentor, and provide direction to staff.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaborate on educational initiatives.
- Prepare division schedules, monitor staffing levels, and support A/R goals.
- Review performance data, conduct staff evaluations, and counsel under-performers.
- Coordinate department projects, system testing, and staff training.
- Identify opportunities to reduce coding-related denials.
- Support budget preparation and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain shared resources and facilitate team education.
- Manage PTO requests, staff schedules, and payroll accuracy.
- Assist in policy development and compile monthly productivity and quality reports.
Requirements:
- Coding Certification (RHIT, RHIA, or CCS)
- 5+ years Inpatient Coding experience in an Acute healthcare setting
- Leadership experience
- Critical thinking skills
Additional Skills:
- 7+ years inpatient coding experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Schedule:
Flexible (Regular business hours for two week training period)
Salary:
$61k - 106k depending on experience
