Job description

Title: Medical Billing - Charge Entry

Contract Duration: 3 months+ (contract)

Shift: M-F, 8am-4:30pm or 7:30am-4pm (half hour lunch)

Location: Lakewood, CO.

Role Overview: This Medical Billing - Charge Entry role is part of a charge entry catch-up project in EPIC for professional billing with partnered hospitals. Due to a transition where charges are now being entered manually, the organization has fallen behind, necessitating this position. The candidate will primarily work on entering demographic and charge information from Excel sheets into EPIC.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing medical records for consistency, completeness, and coding accuracy

  • Entering data into EPIC, including medical and billing codes and insurance information

  • Calculating fees and payments owed by payors or patients

  • Maintaining records in accordance with medical and legal standards

  • Adhering to HIPAA guidelines at all times

Qualifications:

  • EPIC EMR experience is highly preferred

  • 1-2 years of Professional Medical Billing experience

  • Charge Entry experience

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Government and Commercial payor experience (working with all payors)

Work Attire:

  • Business casual (jeans permitted)

Selling Points:

  • Potential for remote work after the initial training period, depending on performance

  • Candidates should expect to work in-office for the first 30 days minimum
