Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our healthcare team. This role will be responsible for rooming patients, obtaining vitals, administering medications, performing various patient tests, and providing instructions on procedural preparations under the supervision of the clinician. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a clinical setting, proficiency with Epic electronic health records, and the ability to manage paperwork and in-basket tasks.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Rooming Patients and Obtaining Vitals: Greet and prepare patients for examination, ensuring accurate measurement and documentation of vitals (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature). Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready for the clinician, and assist with patient positioning as needed.
  2. Medication Administration and Diagnostic Testing: Administer prescribed medications and perform diagnostic tests, ensuring proper documentation and patient monitoring. Instruct patients on procedural preparations and follow up on test results as needed.
  3. In-Basket and Paperwork Management: Manage in-basket tasks, including patient communication, updating records, and scheduling follow-ups. Organize and maintain patient charts, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and up to date.
  4. Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with clinicians and healthcare staff to relay important patient information and assist in care coordination. Monitor patient progress and ensure timely follow-up on treatment plans or test results.

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant (Certified or Registered) Washington State Department of Health

Additional Skills:

  • Experience using Epic EMR
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate medical records.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Schedule/Shift:

4 days per week, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (with 1 day off each week)

Contract Length:

520 hours (approximately 3-4 months). Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$23 - $29 / hour + 401(K) + sick + medical, dental, vision insurance
