Job description

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Plainfield, Indiana 46168

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining pharmacy systems, managing medication inventory, supporting pharmacy operations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of pharmaceutical products. Your efforts will contribute to the smooth operation of our pharmacy and the delivery of high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain Pharmacy Systems and Technology:
    • Manage inventory systems and automated medication counting machines.
    • Prepare records and reports to ensure accurate data and compliance with policies and regulations.
    • Monitor inventory levels, expiration dates, and ensure continuous replenishment of medications.
    • Calibrate machines and apply settings to minimize breakage.
    • Troubleshoot pill cell issues, such as jamming, throughout production.
  2. Manage and Track Medication Inventory:
    • Sort, place, and store freight in appropriate locations.
    • Restock and replenish medication inventory.
    • Report low stock levels and ensure stock rotation on a first-in, first-out basis.
    • Perform inventory cycle counts and assist with physical counts for inventories.
    • Create reports using inventory information systems and monitor inventory for expired pharmaceuticals.
  3. Support Facility Reporting and Paperwork:
    • Enter and modify pharmaceutical data on systems and forms.
    • Process and submit paperwork, and maintain accurate documentation.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies in records or files.
    • Prepare reports on pharmacy activities and inventory, including state board mandated testing of counting devices.
    • Inform management of incorrect or inefficient processes and improper service procedures.
  4. Promote Pharmacy Professionalism and Compliance:
    • Assist pharmacists in the prescription fulfillment process.
    • Stock and rotate merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
    • Handle claims and returns, and maintain required documentation.
    • Ensure a safe and clean work environment in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and corporate policies.
  5. Ensure Prescription Fulfillment and Workflow Efficiency:
    • Use scanners to identify and select pharmaceutical products for prescription orders.
    • Verify product size, strength, pack, and quantity before processing orders.
    • Enter expiration dates, lot numbers, and label prescriptions accurately.
    • Weigh and count medication for accuracy and prepare packages for distribution.
    • Maintain a consistent workflow in a fast-paced production environment.
  6. Maintain Quality, Accuracy, and Inventory Integrity:
    • Utilize automated inventory control systems to track and ensure timely delivery and stocking of pharmaceuticals.
    • Adhere to and document inventory control procedures, including product strategies and descriptions.
    • Audit and test pill cell performance regularly and troubleshoot issues as needed.
    • Manage the pill cell information database and properly discard hazardous waste.
    • Process recalled and expired pharmaceuticals in accordance with guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Indiana Pharmacy Technician License Required
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification Preferred
  • Experience in pharmacy operations, inventory management, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy systems, inventory control software, and automated medication counting machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing pharmacy operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Job Type: Full time

Compensation: $17-21.50 (depending on shift and licensure)

Hours: Full time- 4 10 hour shifts- 1st and 2nd shift available

Location: Plainfield, IN 46168

Start Date: ASAP

Benefits: In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
