Medical Coder (Hybrid - Everett, WA)

Pay: $24.96 - $29.96

Position Overview

The Medical Coder will be responsible for day-to-day coding and billing operations across multiple funding sources, including grants, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance. The ideal candidate has a strong production coding background (2+ years) and can efficiently code 100 encounters per day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and adjudicate coding of services from documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Code physician/provider visit procedure notes with correct ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  • Ensure proper sequencing and use of modifiers (including 340B) for billing and reporting
  • Assign Evaluation & Management (E/M) codes based on documented key concepts
  • Research and apply correct codes for unusual diagnoses and procedures
  • Query providers for clarifications on documentation as needed
  • Track cases with insufficient documentation to ensure timely and accurate billing
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and county billing policies

Must-Have Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a Medical Coder
Current CPC Certification (AAPC or AHIMA) in good standing
✔ Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT billing, and E/M coding
✔ Experience with EHR systems
✔ Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing guidelines

Schedule & Training

📅 Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
📍 First month of training is on-site in Everett, WA
🏡 Fully remote after the first month (if meeting expectations). After that, 1 day/month in office.
