Job description

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Floater

Location: Mesa/Gilbert Area

Employment Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Overtime available.

Pay: Based on experience, typically between $20-25/hr.

Position is contract to hire through Medix #MedixHC - Full benefits (health, vision, dental) available.

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate must be willing to float between 2-3 closely located primary care clinics, providing essential support to our healthcare providers and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examination, and assisting with procedures.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Conduct patient interviews, gather medical history, and document all patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic.
  • Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, including sterilizing instruments and disposing of contaminated supplies.
  • Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, collect specimens, and prepare them for transportation to the lab.
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
  • Travel between assigned primary care clinics as needed, providing consistent and reliable support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited certifying organization (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT).
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care principles.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between clinics.

Working Conditions:
