Job description

Seeking a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant for various openings (front and back office posiitons available)

Requirements:

- Must have national certification or be open to sitting for the exam within 30 days of starting work

- Must have BLS

- Must have covid vaccine

- One opening requires Ambulatory Clinic experience and EPIC experience

Location: onsite at clinic, St. Louis, MO 63110

Pay: varies depending on the clinic location/position, $18-27/hr

(multiple positions available)

Hours: Mon-Fri day shift

Parking: must pay for parking

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Care Duties

  • Interacts directly with patients in clinic setting and completes clinical tasks which may include obtaining vital signs, completion of EKGs, phlebotomy, and verification of medications.
  • Prepares for office hours by doing tasks such as obtaining charts, scheduling tests, and preparing exam rooms.
  • Assists with examinations, procedures, and lab tests.
  • May assist with renewal and authorization of non-narcotic medications per standing orders and department guidelines.
  • May administer medications under the order of physicians or nurse practitioner (this includes vaccines and IM and subcutaneous injections).

Communication and Documentation

  • Directs patient flow, assists with special procedures/treatments, and completes requisitions.
  • Routes phone messages, patient questions, and telephone communications to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists with care coordination by doing tasks outlined under the department guidelines such as calling patients with test results, scheduling appointments, assisting with return calls; scheduling surgeries, diagnostic procedures, and admissions; and monitoring new and return patient contacts, including scheduling of appointments and follow-up appointments.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Answers basic questions from patient/family regarding treatments, diagnosis, and procedures.
  • If order entry in the electronic medical record is part of the job function, completes requisitions/orders per guidelines.

Benefits: In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
