Job description

Hiring Certified Medical Assistants in our Family Medicine Department

Location: Mt. Laurel
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Overview:
We are seeking a nationally certified Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine Department. This role involves both clinical and clerical duties, providing vital support to our physicians and ensuring efficient office operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, dedicated professional ready to make an immediate impact in our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Check patients in via the EPIC system, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information, verifying copays, and retrieving referrals.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage office visit logs in the EPIC system.
  • Take patient vitals (weight, blood pressure, pulse) and medical histories.
  • Document patient interactions and updates in the EMR system.
  • Assist with administering vaccines and preparing medications for injections.
  • Handle patient calls, relay messages to physicians, and manage patient communications.
  • Process new patient charts and prepare them for upcoming visits.
  • Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and office inventory.
  • Manage medical waste logs and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support the completion of HMO referrals and process patient-related documentation.
  • Batch patient visit activity and prepare funds for deposit.

Qualifications:

  • Must be nationally certified (e.g., CMA, or CCMA)
  • Proactive, "go-getter" attitude with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Experience with front and back-office duties, including rooming patients, taking vitals, scheduling, and assisting with procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Prior experience in Family Medicine.
