Job description

Position Summary

The medical assistant stepping into this position can expect to be asked to support the back office with standard MA-C responsibilities, this includes rooming patients, taking vitals and helping provide general support to the clinic. The medical assistant stepping into this role should expect to remain in urology - but it is possible that they may be asked to float to another specialty department within the hospital if there was a dire need.

Responsibilities:

  • Rooming Patients, taking vitals signs an overall managing the flow of patients on a daily basis
  • Conducting medication reviews and assessment with patients and communicating any anomalies to the responsible provider.
  • Assistance in procedures relevant to urology
  • Assistance in managing the in-basket of the provider team and following up regarding patient inquiries
  • Sanitizing rooms after patients have been roomed, restocking and providing our clinical support to operations
  • Providing general clinical support as directed

- Artificial urinary sphincter

- Bladder tumor removal

- Circumcision

- Kidney stone laser and shockwave surgery

- Minimally invasive robotic surgery

- Nephrectomy

- Penile prosthesis

- Reconstructive surgery

- Ureteroscopy

- UroLift®

- Vasectomy

Requirements:

  • Active Washington Medical Assistant Certification
  • Communication: Clear and empathetic communication with patients, families, and medical teams. Ability to explain medical terms and instructions in understandable language.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in recording patient information, administering treatments, and following protocols.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care.

Schedule/Shift:

Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM

Pay:

$25 - $30/hr
