Job description

Hiring Certified Medical Assistants - Department of Family Medicine!
Location: Stratford, NJ
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing medical, clerical, and reception duties to ensure smooth patient care and office operations. You will work closely with physicians, assisting with patient exams, treatments, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical assistance to physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Check in patients through the EPIC system, verify and update demographics and insurance information, and collect co-pays.
  • Schedule patient appointments and confirm insurance benefits and precertifications as needed.
  • Take patient history, chief complaint, weight, blood pressure, and pulse, and document this information in the EMR system.
  • Assist physicians with patient care, including preparing medications for injections.
  • Manage patient calls and relay information to physicians using the EMR system.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming visits and process new patient charts in the EMR system.
  • Maintain medical waste logs and ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Stock exam rooms, keep them clean and organized, and maintain medical supply inventory.
  • Order injectables and vaccines and keep office medical equipment clean and maintained.
  • Handle HMO referrals (paper/electronic) and scan relevant patient information into the EMR system.
  • Batch patient visit activity and prepare funds for deposit.
  • Perform light typing tasks and handle incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Maintain a professional and orderly office appearance and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Open and close the office and assist with any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • National Certification as a Medical Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EPIC system
  • Prior experience in Family Medicine
