Medical Assistant

Location: Memphis, TN
Pay Rate: $19.50 - $22.00/hr

Position Summary
The Medical Assistant supports the physicians and nurses in the examination and treatment of patients at Medical Centers. This position is ideal for candidates seeking on-the-job training, with opportunities to progress into higher roles once certifications are attained. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, and record information in patient charts.
  • Support daily patient flow and provide both direct and indirect patient care.
  • Administer vaccines, medications (IM/SC/ID/Oral), and perform EKGs and supervised lab work.
  • Assist in sterilization of instruments and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of equipment, report malfunctions, and maintain logs.
  • Comply with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations.
  • Manage confidential patient information with discretion.
  • Enter nursing procedures and other data into the computer system.
  • Check and follow up on medical records and missing results before patient appointments.
  • Rotate weekends, holidays, shifts, and center locations as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, operate tools, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and pushing/pulling are necessary.
  • Requires specific vision abilities, including depth perception and focus adjustments.
  • May be exposed to noise and temperature changes.

Schedule

  • Shifts are scheduled within the hours of 7am-7pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends (8am-4pm). Candidates should have flexibility to meet these requirements. When a Saturday shift is worked, a day off will be provided during the week.

Requirements

  • Must-Have Qualifications:

    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) License
    • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
    • BLS/CPR certification
    • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
    • Pediatric experience
    • Injection experience
