Job description

Certified Medical Assistant

Four pediatric clinics are looking to bring on three medical assistants to float between their respective locations.

  • Gig Harbor

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) plays a vital role in maintaining the workflow of patient care by gathering information for healthcare providers. Under the guidance of licensed physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, or registered nurses, the MA-C administers medications, treatments, tests, injections, and inoculations.

In this collaborative position, the MA-C interacts closely with physicians, ARNPs, RNs, patients, families, community agencies, support staff, and management to ensure effective care delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with an assigned Provider or float in the clinic providing clinic support.
  • Perform patient screenings and prepare patients for examination.
  • Room patients, check vitals, update patient information in EPIC, administer immunizations, refill prescriptions, and assist with phone inquiries.
  • Travel between our clinics in Federal Way, Gig Harbor, and Tacoma as needed.

Floating Position:

  • Candidates will be reimbursed for tolls if commuting to Gig Harbor during training.
  • They can expect to work at one location each shift and will receive their schedules at least one month in advance.
  • In the event of an emergency requiring a mid-shift location change, candidates will be compensated for mileage and will continue to be paid hourly during the commute.
  • Management will consider candidates' home locations when creating schedules to assign shifts at the nearest clinics, but candidates must be flexible and willing to work at all assigned clinics.

Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant through Washington State Department of Health

Additional Skills:

  • Family Medicine or Pediatric experience
  • EPIC EMR experience

Schedule/Shift:

M-F 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Four 10's with a month's notice)

Contract Length:

1040 hours (approximately 6 months). Convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$24 - $35 / hour + 401(K) + sick + medical, dental, vision insurance
