Certified Medical Assistant

About:
The ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) department and the organization's General surgery Department is looking for an MA in each department.The medical assistant stepping into this position can expect to be asked to support the back office with standard MA-C responsibilities, this includes rooming patients, taking vitals and helping provide general support to the clinic.

These are both fast paced clinics - General Surgery has 5 providers at this point while ENT has 2 providers at the moment. Both of these departments receive a high volume of patients. Within both departments - the primary function will be managing the patient flow but they will be trained to assist in procedures as they progress in the position.

-Adenoid problems
-Allergies
-Ear infections
-Hearing loss and deafness
-Neck masses
-Nose bleeds
-Saliva gland disorders
-Septal deviation
-Skin cancer
-Sinusitis (sinus infection)
-Sleep apnea
-Swimmer's ear
-Throat cancer
-Thyroid disorders
-Thyroid cancer
-Tonsillitis
-Voice disorders

Common procedures performed at General Surgery include:
-Bariatric surgery
-Breast surgery
-Colorectal surgery
-Esophagus surgery
-Laparoscopic and open hernia surgery
-Minimally invasive GI surgery
-Skin lesion removal
-Small and large intestine surgery
-Stomach surgery

Working in both ENT and General Surgery, candidates should expect bodily fluids such as saliva, blood and snot to be visible. This is a function of the position the candidates need to be comfortable with.

-Rooming Patients, taking vitals signs and overall managing the flow of patients on a daily basis
-Conducting medication reviews and assessment with patients and communicating any anomalies to the responsible provider.
-Assistance in procedures relevant to urology
-Assistance in managing the in-basket of the provider team and following up regarding patient inquiries
-Sanitizing rooms after patients have been roomed, restocking and providing our clinical support to operations
-Providing general clinical support as directed

Must Have Skills:
-CMA Certification through the Washington State DOH
-Tenure in previous roles
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multitask
-1+ years of experience

Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with EPIC

Schedule/Shift:
Mon - Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm
