Medical Assistant - Franklin, TN - Join Our Compassionate Team!

The Medical assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients, under the direction of a physician or nurse in Medical Centers. This is an entry level minimal experience medical assisting position with opportunity to obtain on the job training and progress into a higher level role once certifications are attained. The position may require some nights and weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interview patients, measure vital signs and record information on patient charts.

• Assist with daily patient flow in areas as needed.

• Gives direct patient care and performs indirect patient care activities and laboratory test, under the direction of a physician or nurse.

• Takes appropriate action to maintain a safe and aesthetic environment.

• Performs EKG, administers vaccines and medications via IM/SC/ID/Oral and assist in procedures/treatments as requested by physician and with supervision.

• Performs supervised lab work once the skill has been signed off by a nurse or physician as per physician orders and prepares instrumental equipment for sterilization.

• Adheres to Nursing Department policies and procedures.

• Checks equipment and supplies prior to use for function, inspection and expiration date; reports malfunction of medical equipment and safety issues to supervisor.

• Maintains quality control (i.e. Glucometer, eyewash, refrigerator temperature and autoclave) and cleaning logs as needed for the department.

• Complies with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations (biomedical wastes, handling and disposal) for the center as per regulations.

• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

• Degree of teamwork and cooperation with personnel from other departments.

• Maintain logging system for different procedures as required and enter nursing procedures and other information in the computer system.

• Check medical records and follow up obtaining missing results prior to patient's appointment.

• Able to rotate weekends, holidays, and shifts and center location according to company needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay and Hours:

• Pay Rate: $19.50hr. - $22hr. (Pay is dependent on experience)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm

Location:

Franklin, TN (Cool Springs)

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant Certification
• 1+ years of MA experience
• BLS/CPR certification
• Experience working off of an EMR system
