This client is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant for their South Nashville (Antioch) location.

Pediatric experience and a CMA/RMA License is a requirement.

Shift/Schedule: Candidates will work 8 hours within 7am-7pm M-F and rotate weekends (8am-4pm). This requires flexibility so please make sure candidates are aware of this.

Job Responsibilities:

• • Interview patients, measure vital signs and record information on patient charts.
  • Assist with daily patient flow in areas as needed.
  • Gives direct patient care and performs indirect patient care activities and laboratory test, under the direction of a physician or nurse.
  • Takes appropriate action to maintain a safe and aesthetic environment.
  • Performs EKG, administers vaccines and medications via IM/SC/ID/Oral and assist in procedures/treatments as requested by physician and with supervision.
  • Performs supervised lab work once the skill has been signed off by a nurse or physician as per physician orders and prepares instrumental equipment for sterilization.
  • Adheres to Nursing Department policies and procedures.
  • Checks equipment and supplies prior to use for function, inspection and expiration date; reports malfunction of medical equipment and safety issues to supervisor.
  • Maintains quality control (i.e. Glucometer, eyewash, refrigerator temperature and autoclave) and cleaning logs as needed for the department.
  • Complies with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations (biomedical wastes, handling and disposal) for the center as per regulations.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Degree of teamwork and cooperation with personnel from other departments.
  • Maintain logging system for different procedures as required and enter nursing procedures and other information in the computer system.
  • Check medical records and follow up obtaining missing results prior to patient's appointment.

• Medical Assistant Certification
• 1+ year(s) of Medical Assistant experience
• BLS/CPR experience
• EMR experience
• Pediatric experience

Candidates will work 8 hours within 7am-7pm M-F and rotate weekends (8am-4pm). Candidates will be given a day off during the week when working a Saturday shift. Pay rate between $19.50-$22.00. (Dependent on experience)
