Job description

Medical Assistant

Northgate, Seattle

Medical Assistants and LPNs are used in the same capacity at the Multicare Regional Cancer Center - the main responsibility here will be rooming patients, taking vitals and documenting information into the EMR system (EPIC) and providing overall clinical support to the site. The cancer center has a full front office and administrative staff, so medical assistant responsibilities will be limited to the back office.

Training includes shadowing, demonstrations and a 1:! relationship with another MA/LPN. EPIC training is included as well.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • MAs/LPNs operate on the provider side, responsible for watching patients checking in, gravitating to the front office and walking them to the back room. Very high volume, may see up to 30 patients in a given shift
  • Conducting medication reviews and assessment with patients and communicating any anomalies to the responsible provider.
  • Scheduling and confirming follow up appointments with patients
  • Processing injection orders from providers and administering injections if needed.
  • Confirm and schedule follow up appointments
  • MA/LPNs will be responsible for communicating directly with the infusion side of the clinic and helping transition patients
  • Sanitizing rooms after patients have been roomed, restocking and providing our clinical support to operations
  • 1:1 relationship with a provider in a given shift

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications

  • CMA Certification through the Washington State DOH
  • Tenor in previous roles
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multitask

Nice to Have Skills

  • Previous Oncology Experience, Epic Experience

Soft Skill/Attribute Requirements

    • Interpersonal skills - good communication
    • Wants people who are willing to ask questions
    • Confidence to provide feedback
    • Ability to multitask to not get frazzled

Schedule/Shift:

  • 4 10's M-F 7:30A-6:00p (Days chosen by management)

Contract Length:

700 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$22 - $25 an hour (Dependant on experience)
