Certified Medical Assistant

Job description

Medix is hiring a full time medical assistant for multiple offices in Wilmington including primary care, dermatology, OBGYN, pulmonary, etc.

  • Rooming patients
  • Vital signs
  • Documentation and charting (ex. smoking history)
  • Prepping charts the day before
  • OSHA checks (dates on medications)
  • Minimal office admin work (sending out faxes to the nurses)

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience taking vital signs
  • BLS (any organization) or CPR (through AHA)
  • Open on years of experience

Nice to Have Skills

  • NextGen experience
  • Vaccine administration (for flu shots)

Soft Skill/Attribute Requirements

  • Responsible (showing up on time)
  • Clinical judgement (recognize when patients need to be there vs not)
  • Coachable (prefer newer clinical support staff that are easy to coach)
  • Courteous with patients

Interview Availability

  • One in-person interview/shadow to meet the providers and team (30 mins - 1 hour)


M-F 7-4pm (generally flexible) - 1 hour lunch

  • Patients appointments start at 8, if chart prep is done then leave at 4
