Central Scheduler
Job description
Medix is hiring for a Central Scheduler in Carmel, Indiana.
Schedule/Shift
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Note: This is NOT a direct patient care role. The schedulers will speak with patients, but will nto be face-to-face with them.
- Training: More in-depth training because they are talking to patients. It generally takes 6 months to master this role.
- Work out of a queue
- Schedule for 4-5 providers
- Review records
- Obtain required criteria to schedule
- Call patients to schedule them or send a message to the secretary to schedule
- This position does require someone comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Systems used: NextGen, Microsoft
- Patients per day: 8-10
- Team size: 5
- Tasks completed between scheduling: Sit in phone queue and answers incoming calls to triage, reach out to other facilities for referrals
- There isn't a ton of down-time: Fast-paced
3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum 1 Year Medical Office Experience
- Scheduling Experience
- Microsoft Proficiency
- High School Diploma or GED
