As the Business Office Manager, you will play a vital role in the success of the business by performing a wide variety of duties as you lead the front office department which include but are not limited to overseeing reception, scheduling and registration, as well as being a resource and liaison for our offsite billing office and physician clinics.
The ideal candidate must have exceptional customer service skills, demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, be very organized and navigate frequent interruptions, and be resourceful and feel comfortable on the computer. Strong communication skills are imperative.
Core Functions:
Supervises business office personnel in the areas of scheduling of surgical procedures, and transcription of operative reports in accordance with center policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives
Coordinates billing/coding/accounts receivable with Corporate Billing Office and communicates effectively with the corporate accounting department
Provides accurate and timely information to Administrator, patients, physicians, and other stakeholders
Maintains office supply inventory and orders as needed
Ability to respond to questions and professionally interact verbally and/or written with Administrator, physician offices, co-workers, patients, and the general public
Demonstrates excellent customer service and helpfulness toward staff, patients and their families
Exhibits mental alertness for quality decision making and exercising good judgement
Ability to multi-task effectively, efficiently, accurately and with strong attention to detail
Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data/facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors
Ability to interpret instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables
Ability to effectively communicate patient care needs and significant information to healthcare team to promote continuity of care
Background/Expertise:
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, be highly organized, and very detail oriented
Exceptional computer skills and the ability to quickly master multiple computer programs required
A clear communicator that can build good relationships with clinic and billing office staff and patients, and interacts with everyone in a positive and professional manner.
A meticulous person who asks questions and clarifies information as needed.

Knowledge of business and office machines such as: fax, telephone, computer/printer, copier; reception skills required.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to work in a very busy, multidisciplinary setting.
Must have good clerical skills, including typing (60 wpm), excellent telephone etiquette and good organizational and record-keeping skills.
Must have appropriate manner, conduct and grooming and present a professional image.
Requires minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a healthcare clerical setting required

Day to Day
-Oversee staff of 3 (all front office staff) - manage and stay on top of metrics/reporting. Don't have to be a micromanager.
-Collect operation reports from the previous day, make sure they have everything they need for billing team and auditing in system.
-Talking to patients regarding escalated issues and billing problems.
-NextGen
-Getting AmSurg corporate all of the billing information they need to support.
-Problem solving and being able to look ahead - real solutions instead of band-aid things (process improvements).
-Liaison between business office team at the center and the corporate RCM team at AmSurg.
-Peer review and pulling provider charts - sending case files for Medical Director to review.
-Reports to Kelsey Wells (administrator) and they want this person to be her right hand person / go to.
-Single specialty, it's not rocket science.
3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
Requirements (can we open it up?)
-Be able to do higher level office stuff like understanding coding, insurance/payor relationships,
-Positive, optimistic, really strong customer service. Being able to both take and receive feedback.
-Don't need previous billing background, just some kind of exposure. Can come from ANY sort of medical/healthcare business office background.
-Some EMR experience.
-Can be someone who is a natural leader and can grow into the leadership role (this candidate would need to have a lot of previous experience).

Schedule/Shift
Schedule/Hours: 40(ish) hour/week job. Can do 4 10s OR 5 8s, really up to the candidate themselves and there is some flexibility.
