Seeking a licensed Black Seal High-Pressure Boiler Operator to oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility systems management, possess relevant certifications, and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain black utilities (boilers, chillers, generators, waste treatment) and clean utilities (clean steam, deionized (DI) water, Water for Injection (WFI)).
Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, including safety valves, regulators, steam traps, pumps, chemical feeders, burners, and control systems.
Ensure compliance with state regulations for the operation, safety, and repair of all boiler systems and auxiliary equipment.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to conduct routine maintenance and repairs.
Operate natural gas-fired boilers to generate steam for building heating and industrial processes.
Record and maintain operational data from meters, pressure gauges, thermometers, and other instruments for reporting and maintenance purposes.
Prepare boilers for annual inspections and ensure compliance with required maintenance activities.
Respond to and troubleshoot utility system issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Collaborate with maintenance team members to manage utility systems and maintain a clean, organized utility room.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining large steam boilers and refrigeration equipment.
Black Seal High-Pressure Boiler License (required).
High school diploma or equivalent.
3rd Class Refrigeration License (preferred but not required).
Additional certifications such as HAZWOPER, NASSCO, OSHA, and Confined Space Entry are highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and follow Job Plans (JPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and policies.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Proficiency with a variety of tools and testing instruments.
