Job description

Overview

  • As a Billing Customer Service Rep you will be dealing directly with patient inquiries and complaints as well as issues as reported via phone or customer service calls and correspondence regarding their bills. You will also oversee collection of timely documentation from network providers and patients to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • This is a role where representatives will take inbound calls from patients regarding questions on their bills, and it is the Billing Customer Service Rep's responsibility to them and must be able to understand EOBs (must have EOB experience). Reps will also be responsible for updating patient accounts.

Duties:

  • Receive 30-60 calls from patients and providers in reference to payment issues, patient service issues and updates on insurance data.
  • May also conduct outbound calls as necessary to Insurance companies and Doctor's offices (few).
  • Determining nature of calls and documenting via claim system (XIFIN) an appropriate associated reason code.
  • Effectively research, resolve and respond to billing issues accurately and expeditiously as you will be in a phone queue.
  • Take payments over the phone or set up a payment plan
  • Must be able to navigate through multiple windows/tabs/screens.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years Call Center/Contact Center experience (high volume calls)
  • Strong phone presence/customer service skills
Nice to Have Skills
  • Healthcare experience
  • Medical Billing terminology knowledge
  • Understanding of EOBs
  • Bilingual in Spanish
Soft Skill/Attribute Requirements
  • Great, positive attitude
  • Reliable/good attendance

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, 8:00am to 4:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm (candidates MUST have flexibility to work ANY 8-hour shift between 7:00am to 5:30pm)

Training Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (5-6 weeks)

Pay

  • $18 to $19 an hour
