To perform day-to-day billing functions and contribute to cross-departmental collaboration to ensure the accuracy of billing as well as meeting financial deadlines. The Billing Coordinator will ensure supervisor and other appropriate agency personnel are well-informed of relevant issues while participating in the creation of efficiencies to streamline department processes. This role also provides customer service to internal and external entities. This is a 40-hour week, hybrid position, working primarily remotely but coming into our headquarters office in Aurora, CO, and/or other offsite locations as needed.

Pay Range: $20.21 - $23.24 hourly

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 40 hours/week


  • Certification in medical billing or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years' experience in the field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel


  • Experience in health insurance policies and procedures with an emphasis on Medicaid and commercial insurances
  • 3+ years of medical billing experience Additional


  • Bill claims/services and miscellaneous items to insurance companies within the monthly billing cycle
  • Research and re-bill unpaid claims or other outstanding receivables
  • Distribute reports as needed and maintains billing records
  • Contact insurance companies and customers when payments are not received in a timely manner for the purpose of collections
  • Assist in schedule preparation for the annual audit and governmental billing audits as needed; prepare financial documents according to department and audit requirements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations related to governmental insurance
  • Monitor and ensure that billing files are maintained according to agency and governmental standards and assists with monthly/weekly billing reconciliations
  • Provide backup for cash posting when necessary
  • Contribute to department process and procedures implementation. Assist with cross-training of all billing staff on assigned billing functions
  • Meet agency-specific training and certification relative to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
