Job description

Certified Medical Assistant, Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Phlebotomy/Venipuncture: Drawing blood from patients for diagnostic testing.
  • IM/PO Medication Administration: Administering intramuscular and oral medications as ordered by the provider.
  • Minor Procedures: Assisting with wound care, suture and staple removal, etc.
  • In-Room Diagnostic Testing: Assisting with X-rays, ultrasounds, etc.
  • Vitals: Monitoring patient vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, etc.
  • Patient History Updates: Ensuring accurate patient medical history records.
  • Chief Complaints: Addressing recent health changes (mental, social, physical).
  • Gap Closure: Performing exams such as foot exams or Digital Rectal Exams (DRE) to close care gaps.
  • Review of Provider Orders, Referrals, and Lab Results: Communicating with patients to ensure understanding.
  • Remote Patient Monitoring: Providing support for patients using remote care technology.
  • Care Plan Adherence: Reinforcing the importance of following care plans.
  • Patient Communication: Responding to patient calls/messages on the same day.
  • Collaboration with Care Teams: Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Other Duties: As assigned by the provider.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bilingual: Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Educational Background: High School diploma or GED.
  • CMA Certification: Need to be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, etc.).
  • EMR Experience: Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a must.
  • Medical Terminology: Understanding of medical terms is essential.

Work Schedule:

  • M-F 8-5: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
