ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking an Azure Kubernetes Architect for a fully remote opportunity with one of our top clients - a HealthCare Service provider, serving Federal Government Agencies, Veterans and active members of the US Military/ Department of Defense.

Our client is building an Azure cloud-native, microservices-based web application that they want to deploy to the Azure Cloud / Azure Government Cloud. The Azure Cloud Platform Engineer will be building out the end to end CI/CD platform for fully automated deployments

This role requires an advanced (5+ year) background in the Azure Cloud (security and networking) combined with Terraform, and containerized applications deployments (Docker, ArgoCD, AKS Kubernetes)

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS AZURE KUBERNETES ARCHITECT WILL INCLUDE:

• Working as the Kubernetes SME on a team of Azure Cloud Platform Engineers
• Developing, deploying, and managing applications on Kubernetes clusters, working with Government-level (DISA, DoD) level security assessments.
• Designing application architectures for Kubernetes to span lower and higher environments (dev/test/staging/prod instances)
• Defining and creating Kubernetes manifest files
• Optimizing application performance within Kubernetes environments.
• Orchestrating and managing docker containers through the use of tools like ArgoCD, automatically updating images from changes in the Git repo.
• Creating and managing Helm charts for deployments
• Following a variety of deployment strategies (ie, blue-green, canary, etc)
• Investigating and resolving the escalated engineering issues for production workloads (Azure Gov Cloud)
• Setting up the application logging and metrics using using tools like Prometheus and Grafana dashboards
• Documenting best-processes and standards for knowledge-base
• Assisting in support software and/or cloud-infrastructure on an on-call rotation basis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• US Citizenship is required
• Required Bachelor Degree
• Minimum 7+ years professional experience
• Required 4+ years focused experience in Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) highly preferred
• Must have experience with production AKS instances
• Experience with Continuous Delivery deployment tools (Helm Charts, ArcoCD, Flux, Jenkinx X, etc)
• Experience with production monitoring (log/metrics & dashboard) platforms - Prometheus, Grafana
