Job description

Associate Microbiologist

We are currently hiring for an associate microbiologist position at a medical device manufactuer.

Shift time:

  • Monday - Friday
  • normal shift (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm)

Job Summary:

Assisting in the execution of biological experiments and analyses on various samples, with oversight from senior scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform standard and advanced biological assays on samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate data collection and documentation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, reporting issues to the laboratory manager.
  • Strictly adhere to laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and documentation standards.

Minimum Requirements:



Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.




Preferred Qualifications:



Work Experience:

  • At least 1 year of laboratory experience in biological research or quality control.
  • Hands-on experience with antimicrobial testing and analysis.


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Understanding of standard biological testing methods used in research and quality control.
  • Capability to conduct gap analyses as required.

Essential Skills:



Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in techniques such as pipetting, sample streaking, endotoxin testing, and stability testing.
  • Competence in preparing and documenting experimental investigations, as well as environmental monitoring.


Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
