Exciting opportunity! Medix is hiring for an Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle with a healthcare management company in the Bellaire, Texas area.


Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 annually
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Position Overview:
The Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for hospital revenue cycle operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and optimal financial performance. This role directly supports the Director of Revenue Cycle (Keelyn) and will oversee a team of managers and senior managers to ensure seamless end-to-end revenue cycle processes. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with strong tenure, a comprehensive understanding of the hospital revenue cycle, and a commitment to fostering a cohesive, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Oversight:

      • Supervise and guide a team of revenue cycle managers and senior managers, including workers' compensation, Team D, and senior revenue managers (5 total, with 2 additional hires pending).
      • Build a cohesive, culturally aligned team and lead efforts to foster collaboration and efficiency.

  • Revenue Cycle Operations:

      • Oversee hospital revenue cycle processes, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and managed care regulations, including HIPAA.
      • Maintain oversight of accounts receivable (AR), identify trends, and address issues impacting cash flow.
      • Lead month-end reconciliations and financial analyses to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Strategic Process Improvement:

      • Analyze existing revenue cycle operations to identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions.
      • Develop, communicate, and enforce updated policies, SOPs, and reporting standards to optimize performance.

  • Collaboration with Leadership:

      • Partner with the Director of Revenue Cycle to align departmental operations with organizational goals.
      • Act as a key point of contact for communication between managers and upper leadership.

  • Training & Compliance:

      • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including coding, billing, and privacy requirements.
      • Provide training on quality improvement and best practices to support team development.

  • Continuity & Leadership:

    • Serve as the acting leader of the department in the absence of the Director.
    • Interpret and enforce policies and procedures, ensuring consistency across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field (required)
  • Experience:

      • Minimum 10 years of experience with strong tenure in hospital revenue cycle management (urgent care experience considered, but preference for hospital experience).
      • Proven leadership managing teams of managers and senior managers in a revenue cycle setting.
      • Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payers
      • Comprehensive understanding of the entire hospital revenue cycle process.
      • Preference for candidates with stable work history (no frequent job changes).
