Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively handle, restrain, and interact with animals in a consistent, professional, and empathetic manner.
  • Contribute to data collection and participate in research projects following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and study protocols.
  • Review documentation of tasks completed as part of quality control measures.
  • Perform routine procedures including general animal care, health assessments, administering doses, sample processing, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of animal housing, cages, ventilation, and equipment.
  • Complete training focused on relevant skills for the role.
  • Recognize the significance of work conducted at a contract research organization in relation to human and animal well-being.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other departments and offer support when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues regarding study or animal care updates.
  • Uphold professionalism and safety standards in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Preferably holds a BS/BA degree; High School diploma or GED is acceptable. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • AALAS Certification is preferred, or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard data collection practices and adherence to GLP regulatory guidelines is advantageous.
