Job description

We are hiring new grads interested in working in pre-clinical research! In this position you will get to work hands on with animals and learn terminology and uses of research procedure. As the Animal Care Tech you will be assisting in animal care pertaining to research. This includes setting up the cadaver training, working with the physicians conducting the trainings, lab setup, and more!

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine duties associated with animal care in a research setting.

  • Prepares food and feeds animals, administers medications, maintains sanitary conditions, observes animal conditions and behavior, and collects animal specimens.

  • May assist in animal restraint, maintaining animal housing and minor cage maintenance.

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds; able to stand for extended periods of time

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize work assignments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree High school diploma with 2 years of animal husbandry experience
  • Passion for the medical field - ex: aspiring/ current medical students, aspiring researchers, medical assistants, etc
  • Eager to learn

Monday - Friday 1st shift: 7a-3p and 2nd shift: 2p-10p
