Animal Care Supervisor

We are currently hiring for an animal care supervisor at a research facility in Greater Boston area.

Shift time:

• Monday - Friday
• 7am-4pm

Position Title: Supervisor- Animal Care

This role involves monitoring health and providing care to laboratory animals, maintaining animal colonies, assisting with technical procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and training staff.

Essential FunctionsAnimal Care

• Conduct regular health checks of animal colonies.
• Administer treatments and provide care as directed.
• Provide enrichment and husbandry care.

Technical Assistance

• Assist with breeding programs and research techniques.
• Train staff and provide technical services such as injections and blood collection.

Compliance

• Ensure adherence to regulations and report findings.
• Maintain compliance records and assist with corrective actions.

Training

• Conduct training sessions and seminars.
• Stay updated on animal research regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain training records.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with supply management and equipment maintenance.
• Support anesthesia and recovery procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Certification to be obtained within 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or certification in a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in communication and Microsoft Office.
