Nurse Duties:

• All intake/exit processes as above as needed. Does huddle preparation and presentation.
• Oversees patient care coordination, education, provide nurse visits.
• Dispositions all walk-ins.
• Provides clinic flow supervision, keeping provider and support staff on schedule.
• Assures that appropriate supplies/equipment is available and working properly.
• Maintains emergency cart; checking it on a daily basis.
• Ensures compliance of all pre-visit planning, logs and QI checks and reports any discrepancies to the Clinical Director immediately.
• Handles tasks in Jellybeans: Telephone Encounters/Actions, Labs/DI, Documents, and Referrals (per procedure).
• Addresses patient complaints and documents and/or forwards to the Clinical Director as needed.
• Volumes:

  • Provider typically sees 18-22 patients daily. The nurse doesn't need to interact with every patient, only those in need of specific education (diabetic/asthma teaching) or specific procedures such as medication dosing/administration or wound care all of which are sporadic.

  • The nurses typically deal with the walk in/call in patients and triaging them. Volume varies site to site, but can be 5-10 patients daily
