Job description

Medix is a Joint Commission Certified staffing company who helps some of the top Hospitals and Organizations in the Chicago area and Chicago suburbs hire for their Registered Nurse openings. This specific Registered Nurse (bilingual preferred but not required) opening is an urgent request and we are looking to get people interviewing ASAP!

Job Description:

Refugee Care Coordination Nurse: Go to different shelters around The Cook County Area and provide care to residents such as:



  1. The Care Coordination Nurse is a professional care worker who is responsible and accountable for providing and coordinating safe, effective individualized nursing care to critically ill patients and supportive care to significant others
  2. Assess patient's needs, implements, and evaluates nursing care according to established standards
  3. These activities require nursing judgment based on application of scientific principles of nursing, problem solving, and teaching/learning
  4. Identifies, plans, and cares for the total needs of patients taking into consideration the age specific needs of patients served in assigned area of responsibility as assigned
  5. Performs initial and ongoing assessment/data collection that includes consideration of biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning factors in a systematic manner
  6. Applies principles of infection control and safety
  7. Performs the technical aspects of care according to established practice standards (procedures, treatments, IV/Blood administration, medical administration)
  8. Communicates pertinent information to patient, physician, nurses, and other healthcare team members as appropriate
  9. Formulates an individualized plan of care based on patient's assessed needs, desired outcome, and consideration of age-related requirements
  10. Records accurately, concisely, and legibly in black ink or in the electronic medical record the following information: assessment, medication, tolerance of procedures, reassessment, and plan of care, interventions, and patient's responses
  11. Operates equipment correctly and safely necessary for providing patient care including monitors, ventilator care, IV pumps, and the like
  12. Implements care in knowledgeable, skillful and a safe manner based on established patient and nursing practice standards
  13. Evaluates effectiveness of care and revise interventions as appropriate
  14. Develops, implements, and evaluates educational services/programs for patients
  15. Makes appropriate and timely decisions in a crisis or emergency
  16. Provides general direction, guidance and coordination of patient care given by other levels of nursing staff
  17. Applies knowledge of standard operating policies and procedures, including operating equipment safely and necessary for providing patient care
  18. Participates in staff orientation and staff development activities for the unit
  19. Performs or directs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other lifesaving interventions
  20. Renews professional license in a timely manner
  21. Maintains certification as required in special areas of practice
  22. May be responsible for floating throughout the hospital and/or multiple facilities to provide nursing care in the primary area
  23. Adheres to dress code
  24. Maintains good attendance record


Estimated pay rate:

Up to $45/ hour - Completely based upon experience

Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred

Registered Nurse Experience Required
