Accounts Receivable (A/R) Representative

Job description

Duties

  • Review, understand, and work on unpaid and denied claims using QMS aging reports and clearinghouse worklists and reporting tools.
  • Identify trends in the aging reports and collaborate with payers to improve response/payment turnaround times.
  • Initiate appeal requests according to payer guidelines.
  • Research and understand payer contracts; identify timely filing and appeal deadlines.
  • Manage worklists and reports in the external clearinghouse for unpaid or denied claims.
  • Maintain follow-up notes in QMS.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Clinical EMR, billing systems, and any external clearinghouses used.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all payers.
  • Respond promptly to all correspondence (fax, email, telephone, mail) and ensure that all timely filing deadlines are met.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of patient and employee information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Foster harmonious and constructive working relationships with all staff members to promote a positive and productive atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficient with computers, multiple programs/windows, and Excel.
  • Accounts Receivable experience (open to new graduates).
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM
Salary Range
  • $17 to $21 an hour
