Job description

Job Summary: The Revenue Cycle Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of the business office personnel, particularly in insurance verification and collections of accounts receivable. This role ensures adherence to facility policies, procedures, and objectives while maintaining effective communication with various departments, including billing, to streamline billing, coding, and accounts receivable processes. Additionally, the Supervisor plays a pivotal role in maintaining environmental control within the office area and promoting a positive image of the facility to stakeholders, including physicians, patients, insurance companies, and the general public. Delegation of duties may be exercised as deemed necessary by the Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervisor Duties (40%):

  • Provide leadership and guidance to business office personnel.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize team performance and productivity.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and achievement of organizational goals.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and retention efforts to maintain a qualified workforce.
  • Uphold environmental standards and safety protocols within the office area.

Collections Duties (60%):

  • Oversee the accounts receivable process, including insurance verification and collections.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify outstanding balances and take appropriate actions.
  • Implement effective collection strategies to minimize delinquencies and maximize revenue.
  • Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate coding and billing practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and best practices in revenue cycle management to optimize collection efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • AR/Collections experience
  • Strong RCM knowledge
  • Management experience with direct reports
  • Held weekly meetings/check ins/performance reviews
  • Ability to delegate tasks
