Job description

Job Title: Triage Nurse

Location: Baltimore

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Triage Nurse to join our team in an administrative nursing position with limited direct patient care outside of injections. The Triage Nurse will play a crucial role in managing our busy triage call line, providing essential support to patients over the phone, and ensuring efficient coordination of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering patient questions over the phone and providing accurate information and guidance.
  • Updating patient profiles and documenting conversations in EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Triaging patient symptoms and providing appropriate education and solutions.
  • Scheduling appointments in-office as necessary.
  • Recommending appropriate levels of care, including directing patients to the ER or Urgent Care for serious issues.
  • Managing situations through alternative means when appropriate, with follow-up assessments.
  • Escalating patient questions to providers when necessary.
  • Messaging providers through the portal for additional support.
  • Handling prescription refill requests.
  • Administering injections as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery in a hospital setting.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maryland RN License.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Schedule/Shift:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Parking: Paid on-site parking available (expenses covered).

Pay Rates: Starting at $40 per hour, with the potential for higher rates for exceptional candidates.
