Job description

Medix is seeking a skilled QC Chemist to join a pharmaceutical development and manufacturing group that we partner with in the greater Houston area, specifically near Richmond, TX! RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and stability samples.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
  • Peer review data generated by other chemists and technicians.
  • Validate, verify and troubleshoot analytical methods.
  • Conduct method transfers from other facilities and departments.
  • Author standard operating procedures and analytical methods.
  • Perform and/or assist with equipment calibrations and qualification.
  • Assist laboratory management in preparation for internal, customer and agency audits.
  • Mentor other chemists on good laboratory practices.
  • Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical chemistry laboratory
  • 2+ years' experience with analytical instrumentation ( e.g, HPLC, GC, FTIR).
  • 2+ years' experience in GLP or GMP environment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
