Job description

Are you currently in the job market? Medix is hiring multiples Patient Access Representatives for a well known health organization in Falls Church, VA.

Job Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate accuracy of scheduling patients using the applicable system for the department.
  • Verify applicable charge codes correspond with diagnostic codes.
  • Enter information into the billing/registration system.
  • Complete computer aided, on-line registration screen with parent/guardian via telephone or in person in a professional manner.
  • Reschedule appointments for patients and schedule follow up appointments at check out if applicable
  • Greet patients and parents courteously.
  • Education - High School Diploma or equivalent

Job Overview:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients entering the healthcare facility, providing a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, explaining benefits and financial responsibilities to patients as necessary.
  • Facilitate the completion of necessary paperwork, including consent forms and medical history questionnaires.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, billing departments, and other healthcare professionals to address patients needs and concerns effectively.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records accurately.

Other Information:

  • Openings for Patient Access 1 and 2 are open
  • Shift: Evening Shift; 2:30 - 11 or 3:00 - 11:30
  • Rotating weekends (will get two days off during the week when working the weekends)
  • This a full time, in person role
