Job description

Optometric Assistant / Optometric Technician

Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
Akron, OH 44306
Will float between two locations
Hours: Part-Time to start (Mon & Tues 8AM-6PM) / Opening a brand new site in June, then position will be full time, 4 x 10's, 8AM-6PM between Monday - Friday (working 2 days at each site) No Weekends
Full time hours is available starting immediately, to support additional duties (office work), on site until June
Pay: $20.00/hr
Responsibilities
Patient volume 16-18 patients/day - Each visit is typically 20-30 minutes
EMR is EClinicalWorks
Gather patient medical history, medication reconciliation, medical records
Provide pre-screening test/exams such as visual acuity tests
Will be trained on how to use the machine & take pictures of the retina
Inbound/outbound calls: Answering patient questions, scheduling, prior auths, etc.
Sterilization, cleaning, and stocking of rooms
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months exposure in the Optometry setting
BLS certification
