Job description

Role:

  • Hiring for an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy evaluations, treatment plans, and assessments
  • Responsible for home-safety evaluations
  • Home safety evaluations will include things such as measurement of doorways, chair height, bed height, ordering of bathroom equipment (toilet rails, shower chairs, shower stools, bath lifts, etc.), overall evaluating the mobility of the participants' home (assessing the need of ramps, standing walkers, gait trainers, etc.)
  • Providing evaluations, assessing conditions, and creating treatment plan - Responsible for implementing treatment plan with participant and/or caretaker
  • Can expect 1-3 assessments/day (assessments are a minimum of 1 hr long)
  • Will integrate treatment plan with the IDT team, utilizing coordination of care - Working with Primary Care, Podiatry, BH, etc. as needed
  • Providing semi annual assessments on each participant, adjusting treatment as needed
  • Patient population is geriatric/elderly, they will primarily be treating chronic conditions, arthritis, focusing on fall prevention, etc.
  • Inbound/outbound calls: May just be following up on the order of equipment, replacing equipment, filtering calls regarding pain, calls with PCP to clear OT treatment plan
  • Assists in inventory/distribution and maintenance of medical equipment for participants
  • Educates participants and caretakers on proper care and use of excerise programs and medical equipment
  • Responsible for discharge summaries upon completion of therapy services

Hours:

  • M-F 8AM-4:30PM

Pay:

  • Pay: $42.00 - $44.00/hr

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Bachelors in (OT), or Masters in OT (MOT), or Doctorate in OT (OTD)
  • Registered/active in VA
  • Drivers license/auto insurance, reliable transportation

Nice to Have Skills

  • 1 yr general occupational therapy experience in a geriatric setting
