Job description

We are currently hiring an Interventional Radiology Technician to support in the operating room for a large hospital/health system in Livingston, NJ!

This person will assist the nursing and physician team in the coordination of daily work from a technical aspect. They will assist the Interventional Radiology team in the preparation, performance and completion of all examinations performed both departmental and non-departmental.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active, valid ARRT and NJ DEP license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred.
  • Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred. Open to X-Ray, CT, or Radiology experience.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8-5 with on-call weekend & holiday rotations

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the coordination of the daily work schedule and preparation of the rooms for the day
  • Collaborates with physician for proper orders, x-ray requisitions and lab results
  • Responsible for proper technical exposure factors with digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure for the safety and comfort of the patient
  • This includes programming of digital computer, schonander film stand and contrast injectors
  • Responsible for radiation safety and protection, coordination of continuing education
  • The IR Technologist will be supporting procedures in the OR. Most procedures include: Biopsy, Embolization, working with ports. There are no Cardio or Neuro procedures.

  • Assures overall quality control and quality assurance standards are achieved.
  • Assures overall patient comfort while achieving technical standards during procedures.
