Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Hospital Underpayment Specialist, you will...

• Exposed to complex reimbursement methodology between hospitals and insurance companies.
• Work closely with assigned project teams on the specialized retrospective recovery processes.
• Exposed to various payers, clients and systems across the country.
• Calculate potential underpayment variances through contract interpretation and pricing.
• High-level investigation of claims, follow-up with payers, and collecting on outstanding insurance A/R.
• Escalate stalled claims and other related activities that enhance revenue collections for clients.
• Functions/Competencies you will learn and work within: Auditing & researching claims, contracts, rebills & appeal process, not paid to pricer appeals, transfer audits, newborn audits, commercial pricing, Access Query Functions & Training Part II, running mass Medicare pricers in Excel, and exposure to SQL.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Tech Savvy with EMR's and Excel (Microsoft Apps)

Computer Skills: Insurance Portals, Microsoft Applications, Epic, Meditech, Cerner, Athena and more

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.45-$25.81 per hour

Schedule:

• First 30 days will be more of a structured schedule, but flexibility offered post-training period
• Start by 8:30A EST-CST-MST-PST for training
• 6:30, 7, 7:30 or 8am (EST, PST leaders)
