Engine Assembler

Job description

Summary:

As an Engine Assembler, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by assembling and installing various engine components, mechanical assemblies, and subassemblies. Working under the direction of the Team Lead, you will ensure conformance with engineering drawings, standardized work instructions, and quality standards. This role requires a balance between efficient workmanship and meeting production schedules to achieve manufacturing goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assemble or install engine components, mechanical assemblies, or subassemblies using hand tools and electronic tooling according to blueprints and standardized work instructions.
  • Utilize Lean elements and methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Verify product quality based on work instructions and quality checklists, reporting defective materials or conditions as necessary.
  • Utilize digital and vernier scale micrometers to measure critical dimensions or detect deficiencies in completed assemblies.
  • Lift and/or carry materials up to 40 pounds, adhering to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to apply math skills (fractions, ratios, measurements) and read comprehension of instruction manuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive assembly or similar high-volume manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain Lift Truck, Crane, or other designated equipment certification.
  • Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, attribute/variable gauges, and hand tools.
  • Prior experience or certifications in Electrical, Plumbing, Fabrication, Machining, or Automotive fields (NIMS, ASE).
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and/or ISO9001 methodologies.
