Job description

We are hiring for a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant to join our team in the Baltimore, MD area. We are seeking candidates who are a team player, organized, and someone who is both reliable and responsible.

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Pay: $19-23/hr

Available Location(s): Baltimore, MD

Department: Family Medicine

Overview

  • Report to the Clinical Manager or Program Director, or their designee, for assigned duties
  • Perform physician support services to ensure efficient operation of medical centers
  • Serve as an integral member of the healthcare team, engaging with patients during provider visits
  • Set a positive tone for patient visits, contributing to the overall impression of the clinic
  • Complete administrative and clinical tasks to support patient care

Administrative Duties:

  • Collect demographic and payment information from patients at the point of service
  • Verify and enter insurance information into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (dental, CESH, substance abuse, or medical)
  • Assist with patient registration and scheduling appointments
  • Process encounters and assist with reducing unnecessary write-offs and negative adjustments for uncollectible charges

Clinical Activities:

  • Perform necessary clinical assessments, including vital signs and Point-of-Care (POC) testing
  • Administer injections and perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Assist with procedures as required by healthcare providers
  • Document clinical activities accurately in accordance with governmental and institutional guidelines and protocols

Requirements:

  • 1+ year(s) RECENT experience in Medical Assisting - can be open to lesser experience if the right fit
  • Medical Assistant school diploma - REQUIRED
  • Medical Assisting national certification - REQUIRED
  • Active BLS - American Heat preferred
  • HS Diploma
