Job description

Medix is hiring a Chief Operations Officer COO for a direct hire role with one of our clients, the largest retina-only Ophthalmology practice in South Carolina. Oversee day to day administrative processes of clinical staff across 7 clinics. Full time, salaried position paying $150k-200k and benefits.

Chief Operating Officer - COO - Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with business planning and the improvement of administrative processes
  • Develop budgets, monitor expenditure, and perform daily financial management tasks
  • Responsible for reporting and communicating financial and operational performance to the Practice Management Board.
  • Supervise and hire administrative staff
  • Oversee operations of all departments: healthcare services, finance, human resources, facility operations, and others
  • Train administrative staff and conduct performance reviews
  • Monitor health and patient care practices for compliance health regulations
  • Act as a liaison with outside agencies such as government bodies and insurance companies
  • Create and implement healthcare service delivery improvement plans
  • Clearly communicate the organizational mission and build strategic partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare, financial, and staffing laws and regulations

Chief Operating Officer - COO - Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration
  • MBA or equivalent preferred
  • At least five years' experience in practice administration and personnel management in a similar environment
  • Demonstrated administrative expertise in a small or medium size healthcare organization preferred
  • Proficiency in electronic practice and health record management systems
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations
