Title: Animal Care Technician

Summary:

Animal Care Technicians are responsible for the feeding, cleaning, and basic care of laboratory. This is a hands-on animal care position.

The Animal Care Technician I is an intermediate level position that builds skills in providing husbandry and care to a variety of laboratory animals.

The ACT position works under supervision until deemed proficient by the supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Possesses organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform duties in adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and pus items weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Possesses organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform duties in adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Animal Handling experience

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 7 to 3
